Description
Trajenta contains linagliptin 5 mg, a DPP-4 inhibitor that is cleared mainly through the bile rather than the kidneys.
Uses
- Controls blood glucose in type 2 diabetes
- No dose adjustment needed in kidney impairment, unlike most oral diabetes medicines
How to Use
Take one tablet once daily, with or without food.
Important
Low risk of hypoglycaemia alone, but the risk rises when combined with sulfonylureas or insulin. Report persistent severe abdominal pain. Prescription medicine – use only under a doctor’s direction.
