Description
Vipirocin contains mupirocin 2%, a topical antibiotic particularly effective against staphylococci, including in impetigo.
Uses
- Treats impetigo, infected cuts, folliculitis and other localised bacterial skin infections
- Used to clear nasal staphylococcal carriage when prescribed
How to Use
Apply a small amount to the affected area up to three times daily for the prescribed course, usually up to 10 days.
Important
Complete the full course and do not use for longer than prescribed, to limit resistance. See a doctor if the infection spreads or fever develops.
